Hong Kong Holds Its Ground: GFCI 38 and the Enduring Strength of Asia’s Financial Hub

The well-known global finance sector's evaluation report (GFCI 38th) has been released. Here we are having 1st New York, 2nd London and Hong Kong holding steady in 3rd.
Surprisingly, Hong Kong also shows notable growth in Fintech, climbing up to the 1st.
Let's leave the Fintech shine to the end and talk about the main money services that attributed to our long stand.
Insurance-wise, its market size has grown to US$80.38b in 2025. Life insurance continues to dominate, as Hong Kong people always got high awareness in long term and retirement plans. Currently, even fueled by people from Mainland China, serving their appetite towards protection.
Hong Kong also gain momentum in the Private Wealth Management (PWM) industry with the new star “Family Office” (FO), a large majority (86%) of firms agrees FO is a growing source of business. Government even set up FamilyOfficeHK, a specialist team within InvestHK, to promote its family office ecosystem.
Regarding Fintech, Hong Kong ranked high by playing safe and aligning with the world needs.
The GFCI 38th report shared the world's most active and in demand Fintech products, which is not yet cryptocurrency, but payment and cybersecurity.Among 1100 Fintech companies in Hong Kong, payment & remittance is the core. There are 120+ Digital payment companies to support cross boarder payment. Beyond the vibrant startup ecosystems of Cyberport and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park—both offering funding and office space for cutting-edge ventures in AI, Big Data, Blockchain, and Cybersecurity—Hong Kong continues to foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
